January 2010 Help Us Welcome Our Newest MemberHappy New Year everybody! The Torrey Team is happy to announce that we have officially added a new member -- my daughter Andrea Torrey! Andrea is a graduate of Northgate High School and San Diego State University. She was captain of her high school soccer team, president of her college sorority, and was a Contra Costa Association of Realtors Scholarship recipient. While she has been holding open houses for us since she was 16, she now adds her extensive marketing and retail experience to the Torrey Team. Andrea’s addition to the team comes at a great time. As we close the book on 2009, we can look back at the most productive year the Torrey Team has ever had. Successfully negotiating over 50 real estate transactions in 2009 brings our career total to more than 900 transactions since Pete started the business back in 1977. The entire Torrey Team -- Pete, Zack, Andrea, our interior designer-stager Brittney Torrey, and our accountant-property manager Jean Torrey -- would like to thank all of you for your faith, trust and support through the years. Now let’s hear what Andrea has to say about joining the Torrey Team. Introducing AndreaThanks, Zack and Dad! Somehow I always knew I was destined to join you in the real estate industry. While I enjoyed my time in the women’s clothing retail business -- most recently managing Free People and Sam’s Boutique in Walnut Creek -- I felt that I was missing something. I didn’t feel I was significantly enhancing my clients’ lives, like Dad has been doing for 32 years and my brother has been doing for the past 5 years. Since I was 16 I have been holding open homes and doing some marketing for the Torrey Team. Many of you already know me from our many Torrey Team activities, such as career days and fund-raisers at our schools, the Save-Our-Sports campaign for Mt. Diablo Unified Schools, the Can Tree food collection for the less fortunate, and numerous neighborhood garage sales and much more. I really believe in real estate, now and in the future, and particularly here in the Bay Area. My fiance and I just purchased our first home in Walnut Creek, near my new J. Rockcliff office. Our thinking was that with prices and interest rates so attractive, this is the perfect time to buy. We also noticed that there is very little new construction going on right now, and many economists have been talking about the possibility of inflation. This has led us to believe that prices will be going up in the not-too-distant future. Again, I am thrilled to be joining the Torrey Team and I look forward to visiting with each and every one of you soon at an open house or one of our many other activities. Let’s make 2010 a great year! |
